Angela Guest

Mixed Media Artist |  Austin, TX

Artist in residence September 2018

"Lately, I’ve been coming up with a collection of symbols and meanings significant to myself, then putting those symbols into my work; a cloud is a soul, without solidity but full of beauty, and an arch is time, surviving through past and present and expecting a future. My colorful clouds and sloping arches represent the existence of a soul outside of religion and the passage of that soul through time. Its taken me a long time to come to terms with death and what happens after. Even if you cant see these thoughts clearly in my work, it’s there with me during the making of the work and is with me still after."
