"INGS" WORKSHOP WITH DAIN Q. GORE

Saturday, June 23, 12 to 3 p.m.

$50 per person, all materials included

An idea for a new art form developed by Dain Q Gore, “INGS” are not just things; they are also paintings, and puppets...they are all these things! INGS are art objects that emulate puppets, but are intended to be wall pieces. Somewhere between 2-dimensional paintings and sculptures, these objects represent an element of play as well as a thoughtful approach to the layered sensibility of painting.

In this workshop you will paint, cut out, assemble and take home your own INGS. Stop in to Dain’s studio during the month of June to see some of his own INGS in person.

Stop by Main Street Arts on Friday, June 29 to see what artists in residence Dain Gore of Phoenix, Arizona and Scott McMahon of Columbia, Missouri have been working on during their residences.

Dain, a painter, merges paintings with puppetry to create "INGs" — somewhere between paintings and sculptures, these objects represent an element of play as well as a thoughtful approach to the layered sensibility of painting.

Scott, a photographer, works primarily with historic photographic techniques. His preferred method of generating images is with the pinhole camera, which he typically constructs himself.

It will also be the final day to check out Land & Sea, a national juried exhibition of landscapes and seascapes, on our main floor.

Let us know if you can make it, RSVP to the Facebook event.
