Bad Art Museum, USA
Paintings collected at the museum, once found at flea markets and unwanted, have attracted the attention of collectors. Thousands of artists around the world dream of having Scott Wilson place at least one of their works in his museum. Claiming a place in the collection of the famous antiquarian is not easy, the picture must be “so bad that it can’t be ignored”.
Gasometer Art Gallery
“Art with Wheels” is how the name of an art gallery in Chicago translates. What makes it unique is that once a year, a random lot is drawn for an artist to decorate the cars of his or her choice overnight, and then the moving railroad gallery goes around town, drawing visitors. The tradition of turning trucks into mini galleries with paintings and pictures came about thanks to local truckers, for whom the art trucks remind them of their days away from home.
Pool Gallery (La piscina)
Most non-traditional exhibition venues strive to complement the experience of viewing paintings with the atmosphere of the gallery itself. The sophisticated French, on the other hand, have arranged the gallery around a swimming pool. Sculptures and paintings are placed along the artificial reservoir. The gallery is called “Pool” (La piscina).
