The Palms Art Casino Collection is the perfect place to visit if you’re interested in art and gambling! While you’re trying out your slot machine strategies, you can enjoy the colorful art exhibits hanging on the various casino games.
These art exhibits are designed to mimic the normal mood of people while playing, such as joy or frustration.
More and more casinos in the U.S. are organizing art exhibits in hopes of attracting new visitors. The trend was brought to the attention of Associated Press journalists.
Moreover, gambling houses are approaching the process creatively and with the help of art not only expand their customer base, but also allow a new look at some great works.
Last week, for example, the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City opened its widely acclaimed exhibition, “Across the Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience.” The exhibit features more than 300 digitally rendered works by the great artist. The paintings are projected onto the entire room, literally surrounding themselves and completely immersing them in Van Gogh’s world. The images enlarge and flow into each other, cherry trees grow and blossom, and flower petals are carried away by the wind. Paintings on the walls appear and disappear, transforming into other images around the viewer, giving an unforgettable experience.
And this is not the only example, other casinos in the States do the same. For example, Palms Casino now features contemporary art, including works by street artists.
According to art historians, this symbiosis of art and casino benefits people in the first place – many people do not like museums because of the strict rules, but are willing to come to the casino. And vice versa – some wouldn’t think to look into a casino if it wasn’t for the exhibition.
